Written with/by AI?

A box is sitting outside the door. There is a book in the box. It looks like a book. A blue rigid cover. Soft, but without a title.
I open it, I look at the first page and it is completely white.
Then I start turning the pages and in each of them a picture of my mind is showing. In some pages, a description is written, instead.
If I go back to previous pages, they have changed. Any page always shows what is on my mind, right now.
I am not reading the book. The book is reading me.

Would one say that the text above is generated by AI?
Or even just written with some aid from AI?

Is it written entirely out of someone's (human) mind?

And then one may want to consider whether that adds anything to it. Does it matter?

I've actually asked 3 chatbots to evaluate whether they think the text is AI-generated. I've used non-free models, in incognito-mode (or equivalent).

Surprisingly, they agree on saying it could be both. Quite typical LLM, right? They do offer some insight regarding possible grammar or idiomatic analysis, whether a human or a machine is more likely to make them, and so on.

The truth is that it's not actually possible to distinguish. A chatbot could simply be used as a dictating machine, a speech-to-text tool that smooths the grammar edges.

Would any of that matter when enjoying an artifact?

It could matter for attribution, earnings, and so on... Big can of worms, this one.
